Kick off the Petworth Library Teen Book Club with “Nimona” by ND Stevenson! A fun, fantasy graphic novel about a villain’s journey for revenge and his shapeshifting sidekick with a thirst for evil.
Kick off the Petworth Library Teen Book Club with “Nimona” by ND Stevenson!
This is a fun, fantasy graphic novel about a villain’s journey for revenge and his shapeshifting sidekick who has a thirst for evil. Think “queer Despicable Me” without the kiddos.
This book satirizes fantasy tropes with names like Blackheart and Goldenloin and a plot to be totally evil. An unlikely duo share in each other’s past and what they really yearn for.
In this queer, friends-turned-rivals novel, there is a cute love story as well as symbolism that resonates with trans and non-binary people in today’s society.
Check out a copy of “Nimona” and take a reading guide. We will share favorite scenes, talk about LGBTQIA+ experiences in the book and in our lives, and have a wildly queer time. Wrap up Pride Month with the first Teen Book Club meetup!
There is a limited number of available books at the library for checkout; however, teens are welcome to put the book, from another library, on hold or bring their own book if they so choose.
